Journey & Experience
Jay’s experience with yoga and meditation started in his second year of university. During this time the pressure of university prevented him from focusing on his goals and what he wanted to achieve.
After regularly practising yoga and meditation he discovered that he was able to overcome the mental obstacles that he had faced. He was then able to focus on what he wanted to achieve in his life. He not only received a 2:1 in his degree, but also a 1st in his dissertation which has since been published as part of an academic article.
During his journey Jay found that these practices were not widely offered to those who could benefit from yoga and meditation, especially those experiencing mental health, stress, anxiety and physical challenges. Now that Jay is fully qualified as a Zen Yoga Teacher he is determined to bring these practices and what he has learnt to everyone.
Training & EXPERIENCE
Jay has completed the 200 hours Zen Yoga Teacher Training Course. Yoga Alliance Certified, REPs and Independent Yoga Network Registered. He was taught by Zen Master, Daizan Skinner Roshi who has spent 20 years as a monk in a Zen Japanese Monastery and is now sharing his teachings and training others as Zen Yoga Teachers.
Jay is constantly developing his skills and knowledge with studying and practising in the fields of yoga and meditation. Jay has been teaching for over two years and with a range of abilities, levels and ages. He is passionate about making yoga accessible, tailoring his classes to all abilities so that everyone can enjoy yoga.
Alongside running NamasJay, Jay has also launch a social project called "The Young People's Project" which provides free yoga and meditation classes to young people who may experience stress, anxiety and other mental health difficulties which is funded and supported by NamasJay corporate clients and online classes Learn more.
