Jay has completed the 200 hours Zen Yoga Teacher Training Course. Yoga Alliance Certified, REPs and Independent Yoga Network Registered. Taught by Zen Master, Daizan Skinner Roshi who has spent 20 years as a monk in a Zen Japanese Monastery and now is sharing his teachings and training others as Zen Yoga Teachers.

Jay’s experience with yoga and meditation started in his second year of university. During this time the pressure of university prevented him from focusing on his goals and what he wanted to achieve which resulted in experiencing anxiety and stress that negatively impacted him physically and mentally. After he dove into a regular practice of yoga and meditation he discovered that he was able to overcome the mental obstacles that he faced and focus on what he wanted to achieve and manifest in his life. He not only receive a 2:1 in his degree but also a 1st in his dissertation, which has been published as a conference paper.

During his journey, Jay found that these practices were not widely offered to those who could benefit from yoga and meditation the most, for example, those who experience mental health, stress, anxiety and physical ailments that meditation and yoga could relieve.

Jay is passionate about bringing these practices to others such as children, students and everyday working people who experience stress, to charities that help those who experience mental health and more.

Jay furthered his education and training and completed training in Children and Teen Yoga alongside Children and Teen Trauma-Informed Yoga where he gained the skills and experience to teach children and adolescents yoga and meditation and those who may experience trauma. Furthermore, Jay explored and trained in other practices and therapists such as Pilates and Sports Massage Therapy to provide more for others who may experience the daily physical and mental stresses and strains and wish to benefit from these practices.
